Finding your next great love is the most wonderful feeling in the world. Our team have scoured the globe, putting their ear to the ground and listening to emerging talent to uncover the successors to the Deezer NEXT class of 2017. Deezer also has a service called Flow, which is similar, but I found that it was very weighted for my tastes, as I would be listening to the same 30 songs over and over. Using this extension will provide a button in the URL bar for the Deezer website that you can click to shuffle. Finding your next great love is the most wonderful feeling in the world. Our team have scoured the globe, putting their ear to the ground and listening to emerging talent to uncover the successors to the Deezer NEXT class of 2017. Here’s the first edition of our picks of who to love in 2018:

Jorja Smith

Jorja Smith’s voice aches with knowledge beyond what is possible to fit in two decades of life. And then, all of a sudden, it doesn’t, replaced instead with a clarifying soprano or soulful grace. Her chameleon yet unique voice promises to bring a homegrown R’n’B vibe to 2018 on the back of her collaborations with the likes of Stormzy and Preditah.

GASHI

The New-York based hip-hop artist brings a life lived in over 24 countries to bear on his music. Gashi is not your typical rapper.

Lewis Capaldi

Next

This young Scottish singer-songwriter takes deeply personal lyrics and turns them into poignantly universal moments.

Yxng Bane

Yxng Bane is all about the message, and he’ll skip out on a genre to get it to you. Give this 21 year old from East London a chance and he’ll bring you something wonderful – like his surprise Top 40 hit ‘Rihanna’.

Eddy de Pretto

The young Parisian artist who styles himself as “non-genre” mixes rap & French Variété on his debut EP, ‘Kid’.

Sopico

Fresh from the 18th arrondissement, this French rapper is part of the Dojo Klan and has been climbing the ranks since his 2016 release ‘Heat’.

EUT

Powerful pop meets catchy indie in this 5-piece band from the Netherlands.

Irie Kingz

Straight out of San Andrés, this Colombian duo mix Spanish and English on tracks heavy with Caribbean vibes.

Mike Bahía

Deezer nextbike bvg

From “La Voz Colombia” to a solo career as a guitar-playing urban pop star, Mike’s ready to take on Latin America this year.

El Kanka

One of the new generation of Spanish singer-songwriters, Juan Gómez Canca is making waves with his latest release ‘Andalucía’.

Marta Soto

The young Spanish pop star has wowed some of Spain’s veteran artists with incredible renditions of their hits, and now she has a new one of her own, ‘Quiero Verte’.

Deezer has revealed the plans for a new program called Deezer Next, which will identify and promote emerging musical talents. The streaming service will collaborate with the artists and their labels and managers to raise the profile of the selected performers through playlisting, editorial, and marketing support. Three performers – Rag’N’Bone Man, Maggie Rogers and Anne-Marie – have already been chosen for global promotion. The remaining participants, once they are chosen, will receive support in individual markets.

“One of the biggest challenges in the music industry is developing and breaking new artists but, as streaming is becoming the preferred choice for music fans, we now have an exciting and meaningful way of introducing and developing emerging artists on a global scale,” said Sulinna Ong, Deezer’s vice president of artist marketing. “Deezer is committed to supporting emerging artists and being an important part of the journey in developing artist careers.”
